I made this doll quilt for my granddaughter after we attended “Dolls Day Out” at the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA. After an old fashioned tea and doll parade, we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon participating in the engaging activities scheduled during this event. The many doll clothes and miniature quilts on display inspired me to start working on projects for Bianca’s dolls and of course is a good way to try out some of the features on my new sewing machine.
This doll quilt is an easy weekend project. I used a cheater quilt fabric for the top, bordered it with a second novelty print, which is also the backing. The quilting is done around the crazy quilt design of the quilt top. For embellishment, I added lace and four buttons at the corners. Instead of additional sugary treats, I’m happy to include this gift in Bianca’s Easter basket from her grandparents.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!
Artfully yours,
Chris
