Thanks for Giving!

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope all of you did too. The chef in me surfaced once again and I was happy to patronize Wegman’s for their baked goods and breads that I was too busy to prepare myself. It was a pleasure as usual to entertain my elderly father who forgets that he’s elderly. I relaxed on Black Friday and was glad that I stayed away from the frenzied crowds in my favorite department stores like Macy’s and Bloomingdales. On Saturday, I did brave the throngs because I wanted to support Small Business Saturday and ended up at one of my favorite local floral and gift shops. While there, I came across something that I had recently intended to buy. Don’t laugh, but I almost purchased a coloring book. I had seen coloring books especially geared for the adult population, but this one caught my attention because on the cover was a fabulous quilt. I walked out of the store and decided to get this book at a later date. My passion for quilts and my new interest in coloring (one of my childhood pastimes) prompted my husband to surprise me the next day with the book gift-wrapped with a pretty red and green bow. Needless to say, I was delighted to receive this present. Next on my list is a paint by number kit….
